I have a great collection of brown and white transferware (as mentioned on the Tone on Tone blog last fall) but I don't use it much. But the other day I got inspired by the impeding visit of a bride and her family to make a nice spring arrangement. I used pink garden roses, wonderful daffodils and parrot tulips, apricot spray roses, pink leptos, and coppery azalea leaves. Such fun and relief that it is finally spring in MD.

Potomac Floral Wholesale 2015 show
This weekend, Potomac Floral Wholesale put on their annual open house. John Hosek was the guest designer and I was lucky enough to work with him on his designs for the stage. We made about 30 beautiful bouquets, 5 or so headpieces, and a host of other things. John is a very talented designer with an interesting background in horticulture and engineering and had a precise way of working. It was a honor to learn from him. You can see photos of some of the pieces on the Potomac Floral Wholesale web site.
I have had a great time the past few weeks learning from some very talented people!

Philadelphia Flower Show
I was very lucky last week to be part of the Schaffer Design team creating a large installation at the Philadelphia Flower Show. The overall theme was the movies and the movie they interpreted was The Nightmare Before Christmas. They produced 6 large vignettes with scenes from the movie and they were just fantastical and fun. The team consisted of 45 people and I made a lot of new floral friends. What a great experience. The funniest part was seeing myself on the front page of USA Today's website. There I was painting florescent paint onto dyed mums and looking like I was really concentrating - which I was!
