Buffet arrangement

I made this piece in a client's vase last week.  Was so happy to get yellow peonies and combine them with beautiful bittersweet, pumpkins, ranuculus and other flowers to get this effect.

Engagement party

Yesterday we did the flowers for a lovely engagement party at the Landon School library.  It is a wonderful space and a meaningful space for the groom's family.

Open House flowers

Many years of Open House flowers, this is the 2016 version - I really like this loose,  end of the garden year look.

Samples

I have always made a sample for my brides - either the bouquet or the centerpiece.  It seems to give everyone some peace of mind and is well worth it.  Today I did some tweaks on a fun palette of golds and lavenders - not my usual fall palette but one that glows.   This is the most fun part of floral design for me - working with different color palettes that are often out of my comfort zone but make me try new things.

Fifteenth first day of school flowers

I have been doing the flowers at Holton for a while now and I think this was the fifteenth first day of school that I have made flowers for the podium as well as other area of the school.   I always use a blue and white palette to honor the school colors.

Bridal Shower arrangement

Today I made this piece for the bridal shower of a friend.  I like this combination of cream/dark blush and burgandy and was happy to add in purple basil and blooming mint from my garden.  I love these loose gardeny style of arranging.

Pippen Hill Wedding

I was thrilled to see photos from the wedding we did at Pippen Hill Winery 2 years ago posted on the Belle Magazine blog.  The heading is "Colorful Farm Wedding" and there are lots of pictures - I can hardly remember doing all of the pieces!  Anyway, take a look - it was a wonderful wedding to work on - great colors and such a fun couple.

Mother's Day for Lucy

Now that my baby has her own baby I always give her flowers on Mother's Day. This year I had some fun and this is the result.

Easter

This year my friend Helen had a great Easter egg hunt at her house.   I made this arrangement for the outdoor table - wonderful red parrot tulips, ranunculus, hydrangea and jasmine vine in a nice footed compote.

Birthday flowers

I did some arrangements for a birthday party on Saturday night.   This client loves peach and coral and I do as well.  I used Fado and Versilia roses, green hydrangeas, pink hypericum, peach ranunculus, salmon parrott tulips, peach spray roses and nagi foliage...really my favorite color combo..

Flowers for a cocktail party

I just delivered this pair of arrangements to a wonderful old farmhouse for a cocktail party.  This venue is one of m favorite places.  The space is so gracious and welcoming and has a lovely feel.  These colors are ones I often use at this place - they are just right.

Blooming Tillandsia

I found some beautiful blooming tillandsia at the wholesaler this morning - such a lovely delicate color.  I really like it in my old brown and white transferware.

House party

I made a bunch of arrangements for a house party tonight.  I work in this house a lot and it is always fun to see what we can come up with.
